Sign up to receive TALK205 Messages

Interested community members are invited to sign up to receive Talk205 messages from the Elmhurst School District 205 Office of Communications and Public Relations. Talk205 is District 205's communication system, powered by SchoolMessenger.

Custodial parents/guardians of District 205 students, as well as District 205 staff, are automatically included in messaging (both email and phone calls) sent through this system. Because Talk205 is connected to our Student Information System, parents need do nothing when students move grades or schools. Information will automatically be updated if you have already provided the District with an email address and phone number.

2019 Kindergarten Registration Dates Announced
Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 has announced dates for 2019 Kindergarten Registration. Please share this information with any prospective D205 parents you may know:

  • Tuesday, February 5, 2019 – 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. (All D205 Eementary Schools Participating)
  • Wednesday, February 6, 2019 - 12:30 – 3:00 p.m. (All D205 Elementary Schools Participating)
  • Thursday, February 7, 2019 - 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. (Conrad Fischer for Fischer Students Only. Spanish translator available)
  • Thursday, February 7, 2019 – 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. (District 205 Center for All Other Elementary Schools)

Emerson Elementary PTA Hosts Holiday Shopping Boutique

Emerson’s Elementary PTA will sponsor its first Annual Holiday Shopping Boutique on December 13 from 6-8 p.m. in the Emerson Elementary School Gym. More than 25 local vendor booths to shop. For more information and the list of vendors, click here.

D205 Foundation Selling K-12 Holiday Ornaments
Looking for a unique stocking stuffer that also supports education? The District 205 Foundation offers hand-forged, pewter ornaments of each K-8 school, York High School, Churchville Schoolhouse, and York note cards.

Last day to order before break is Wednesday, Dec. 19.  For details about these items and other gift options, visit

Need Duke Gear for the Holidays?
Looking for York Duke Apparel for holiday gifts?  Shop the York Apparel Open House on Thursday, Dec 13 from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at York High School.

The York Athletic Boosters are bringing the entire inventory of York Apparel and school swag to the lobby of Door 1 (Academic Wing) of York High School for easy shopping. Great gifts for all ages -- traditional hoodies, joggers, T-shirts, quarter zips, cozy flannel pants, and joggers, hats, baseball caps, gloves, socks, blankets, string backpacks, even holiday ornaments!

Sandburg Middle School Accepting Donations for Bernie’s Book Bank
Help Sandburg Middle School reach a goal of donating 1,500 books to children in need. Now through Friday December 14, SMS Student Council is collecting childrens books for Bernie's Book Bank.  Bernie’s Book Bank sources, processes and distributes quality new and gently used children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers and school-age children throughout Chicagoland. 

Drop off books for children, ages birth through sixth grade, by the Sandburg Middle School front office door.  Please do NOT drop off: textbooks, activity books, coloring books, video game guides, young adult, adult, or reference books.  For more information go to or contact the school. The school community is invited to support the book drive.

York Boys Volleyball - Middle School Winter Clinic Registration Open
The York Boys Volleyball Middle School Winter Clinic will be on Wednesday, January 2 and Thursday, January 3 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the York Field house.

The cost is $50 (or $30 to attend only attend one day) and includes a custom York Dukes beanie. Payment, a check made out to "York High School", or cash can be brought on the first day. Click here to register.

Elmhurst Music Boosters to host Eat-and-Earn Fundraiser at Francesca’s
Elmhurst Music Boosters is having an Eat-and-Earn Fundraiser on Tuesday, January 8 at Francesca's. Between 11:30 am-9 pm, EMB will earn 15% of each check when the attached flyer is shown or mentioned.

2019 Dukes of Distinction Nominations Now Open
Do you know a York Community High School graduate, who has made an impact? Elmhurst CUSD205 encourages you to submit a nomination for the York Distinguished Alumni Program’s 2019 Dukes of Distinction at

Nominees must be a York Community High School graduate of 10+ years (2008 or earlier), who have distinguished themselves through significant and/or extraordinary accomplishments, service and/or an outstanding contribution to society.

Anyone over the age of 18 may nominate a distinguished alumnus; nominator does not need to be a York graduate. Posthumous nominations will be accepted. Self-nominations will not be accepted. Note: In case of multiple nominations for the same person, all will be considered. Please be as specific as possible when submitting the application and include as much biographical information about the nominee as possible. Nominations must be received by April 30, 2019, to be considered for a Fall 2019 York Distinguished Alumni Award. Those received after April 30, 2019, will be considered for the following year.
